Whew … our weekend went fast and Monday disappeared in a flash. Here we are on Tuesday and July is almost gone. Today I’m loving this blue velvet chair seen on Remodelista. Also, our living room opens into our entryway (ie, there is no real door) so I’ve been thinking of putting up curtains like the ones below. Shoppers Diary: Canvas Home Store Online : Remodelista.

This Brooklyn brownstone from this month’s Vogue, of all places, is amazing. Thanks for the tip, Stephanie! And, yes, my friends are keeping me caught up on the best of the web this month while I spirit to the end of my thesis. (Thank god for friends!)

This room just oozes comfort! And, they don’t have any curtains! Lucky them. via AT NY
PS, I love their rug and its placement.

The gray chairs in this lovely apartment (belonging to Deborah Needleman of Domino!) have been on my mind recently. I love the laid back, elegant color gray and the sweetly feminine style of the chairs. I’d love to find this fabric — anyone know what it might be? PS the rest of the apartment is fantastic and full of inspiration for real living. I love the matching rugs, the firewood and the love settee, too.

I’m digging these black settees found in Domino Magazine via Desire to Inspire…. anyone know where to find one in real life? I’d love something this size in my bedroom!

I’ve always imagined that whenever it is I finally have my own house with rooms to spare, I’d have a room dedicated just to displaying photographs, floor to ceiling all in identical black frames. Flipping through a book on wallpaper in interior decoration I found this image from 1762 the Castletown House, County Kildare: bingo! This room was created by Louisa Connolly over the course of her life — each print was individual and pasted to the wall with an accompanying decorative border to achieve this effect.
