I can’t get this old Domino photo out of my head. I love the floral fabric (the white space between flowers seems to make it modern to me) would love to find a similar fabric (any one recognize it?).

The obsession with kitchen nooks continues. Via my mother-in-law’s design library.

Striped chairs make me happy. (via Remodelista)

I know I’d like a pedestal with a funky bust.
I’m feeling the holiday burn; this week is the make or break week and then its good bye productivity until 2011. So, where could you find me last night at 10pm? Organizing the pantry and cabinets like a mad woman. Tim found me combining jars of ground cinnamon and bottles of vinegar with a vengeance. I feel an uncluttering moment coming on!

Some more busts to ponder and a great assemblage of bunnies. I could do this with whales; I draw adorable whale cartoons. All images from the Selby.

Whew … our weekend went fast and Monday disappeared in a flash. Here we are on Tuesday and July is almost gone. Today I’m loving this blue velvet chair seen on Remodelista. Also, our living room opens into our entryway (ie, there is no real door) so I’ve been thinking of putting up curtains like the ones below. Shoppers Diary: Canvas Home Store Online : Remodelista.

I’ll admit it: I have real ambivalence about our apartment. Something about it just doesn’t feel permanent to me. (It might be that the elevator breaks down more than any elevator should and we live on the 10th floor.) Over the weekend I realized I just need to commit to finishing decorating it so that it doesn’t feel like we’re camping out — to that end, I’m thinking about putting up some stripes in the living room and adding a banquette — on a tiny budget (ie repurposing things in the house…). <<via>>

I find this stairwell charming. << Via >>

There is something romantic about summer camps. When I saw this camp kitchen on Remodelista I thought “my last kitchen was smaller and less functional than that!”.

Everyone at work is talking about their long weekend plans to country houses. Tim, Alex and I are staying at home (no traffic for us!) However, this image is going in the “country house” file. I’d love an open kitchen like this, some day. And, Tim loves italian sparkling water, so maybe a nice row of green glass bottles just for him.
