Back to School

Pocket Dept. — A Notebook for Every Pocket! from Princeton Architectural Press on Vimeo.

Today is Alex’s first day at school, and even though he is only in a preschool program, he is going for a full day, five days a week.  Last week saw us in full back to school shopping mode and I find today feels like a big transition.  I suppose every mother asked herself some version of “where did my little baby go? this morning at drop off.  I’ve spent the day catching up on a summer’s worth of emails and to dos (with blogging on the top of list!).  This video from the Princeton Architectural Press (for a new line of notebooks  in collaboration with The Brooklyn Art Library) seemed so cheery and upbeat on a day that is just a little bittersweet in this household.

My guys, on the way to drop off.  Alex doesn’t have to wear a tie to school, but his best friend goes to a school with uniforms, so now Alex likes to put on a tie in the morning (“just like Daddy and Jules”).

So impressed by your productivity and so nice to see you show up in my feed! I have missed your blog. My son went back to preschool today and at 10.00 I lay down to read for “just a little bit.” I woke up at 1.00. It was the best nap I have had in a very long time and I felt like I was the luckiest person on the planet to be able to take it. Tomorrow I will start being productive with the sound of that pocket advertisement clicking to help me along.

p.s. You son looks ADORABLE in his tie.

Oh man, that photo make my heart hurt … so cute. And the tie!

It seems like the era of the blue Bugaboo was just last week.
