Drive-By Metropolitan

October 18, 2012

Alex and I took a quickie drive-by trip to the Metropolitan today; the benefit of a membership is that if we want to take a walk that last only 20 minutes, we can!  We walked through the temple of dendur,  past arms and armour, through the American wing and almost out the door when Alex said he wanted to “see the paintings” so up the stairs and through European Paintings we went. “Look at all the babies” Alex said to the galleries of religious art (and Madonna and child paintings).  Two of my favorites – Still Life with Silver by Alexandra Francois Desportes and The Harvesters by Peter Bruegel the Elder.

I just loved this post – we used to do the very same things – but we skimmed the Temple of Dendur and the period rooms. We still visit our favorites every time we are in NYC.

Look at all the babies!

Wow, I love that and I love Alex. Reminder: all babies are divine.
