Mornings Around Here

December 9, 2010

Mornings around here start promptly at 6am; after breakfast (and I’ve had some coffee) there is reading of books, singing and head rubs.    After admiring the bright nails of Jenny, Ashley and Leigh, three of the nicest and most stylish ladies I know, I got my nails painted with Essie’s One of a Kind last night.  Which, for those keeping score at home, matches my winter coat in its hunter’s orange.  I basically pranced around the apartment last night exclaiming “I have fancy hands! I have fancy hands!” until Tim couldn’t take it anymore.

I was just looking down at my bright red fingernails and thinking about how fancy they looked. Isn’t it funny how nail polish can do that?

Oooh, pretty pretty!

Love the fancy nails, Abbey! And thanks so much for the very sweet compliment. You are way too kind to me!

I have to admit that I let out an audible ‘awww’ when I saw my little buddy Alex here! I can never tell you enough times how adorable I think he is!! I don’t know how you manage to get anything done with that level of cuteness in a child. He makes my heart absolutely melt every time.

This photo is so moving!
Your family is so beautiful and fortunate. I envy Alex that head rub! Imagine all the great ideas and brilliant thought processes I would have every day on receiving direct red-fingernail love on my head. No wonder he is so genius in his beautiful body. I love his feet!

Thank you, Abbey! That’s so sweet!
What a lucky fellow Alex is–a head massage in the morning? AND a book? This is adorable.

I just put on flame red nail polish the other day and, like you, couldn’t get over my fancy hands. Your son is impossibly cute with those chubby legs and stylish stripes.
