On the road: Green Wood Cemetery

August 10, 2010

Last weekend we headed to Brooklyn’s Green Wood Cemetery.  We walked the wandering roads (it is over 500 acres) and felt a million miles away from NYC.  Also, there are wild parrots in the cemetery.

I needed a little dose of green today, so I came over. Wasn’t what I was expecting, but it’s oddly calming! The parrots are so neat!

So many cemeteries are so absolutely beautiful. All that green along with statuary. Absolutely great places to visit. My aunt is working with her local rose society to plant all kinds of vintage roses at their local cemetery. I love that.

This is a great idea. There are so many beautiful cemeteries around the country. I am going to go the the one around the corner from me in Hillsborough, NC.
