Living Room Ideas

July 20, 2010

Whew … our weekend went fast and Monday disappeared in a flash.  Here we are on Tuesday and July is almost gone.  Today I’m loving this blue velvet chair seen on Remodelista.  Also, our living room opens into our entryway (ie, there is no real door) so I’ve been thinking of putting up curtains like the ones below. The curtains could work well. That is something I’ve been thinking about trying in our master bedroom for way too long. I can’t wait to see how it works for your entry.

am I the only one that finds dark colors so soothing? that first image is awesome (might be inspiration file worthy!)

I’m a huge fan of deep velvets, that classic, blue sofa is just timeless. Great find!
The curtains are also a great idea for separating spaces without consuming too much space or volume in a room.

I saw something in Domino Magazine (I miss it so!) a few years ago. I believe it was someone’s house in London and they had gorgeous velvet curtains a few feet in from their front door to create an entry space. It was sort of like a chic restaurant entry.

I like seeing more and more curtains as room dividers, they can really transform space into more cozy living units.

OMG love that chair. The color, the shape, the texture. Each and every ounce of it is divine…
