Yesterday was one of those no-good-very-bad days — the baby was cranky, I was cranky, it was hot as balls here in NYC and I felt impatient with almost everything. We sweat through it, the husband came home with more DVDs of Weeds and a delicious pizza and I woke up this morning feeling human. And, to sweeten the day, the internet yielded up a delicious new-to-me vintage shop in Brooklyn, Deluxa. I can’t wait to go check out the goods and maybe snag a few pieces for the apartment (I’m in need of chairs!).

Do you need sitting chairs or eating chairs? This sounds really weird, but I have two awesome 60′s chairs (from the Time & Life building) that I could loan out for a few years until we move to a house… You can see photos of at least one in the house tour that linked off my blog–they’re the blue ones in the living room. Ugh, I hate days like that. It’s been as hot as balls here, too. Stupid balls. The only acceptable remedy IS Weeds, pizza, sleep and the prospect of vintage treasure.
I have the Weeds … now I just need to rustle up the other three … and maybe some popsicles : )
‘hot as balls’……oh my god, that expression is hilarious; i’m amazed an aussie didn’t come up with that one – it sounds like something we’d say, for sure! that’s my new summer word….roll on december, so i can start using it.
