Loving Aerial Photography

Picture 6

Our dining room is in serious need of some art (see sad picture below) and I found inspiration in this vintage aerial photograph found on kellylj’s photostream. You can search for vintage aerial photographs of your house, town or city here, but they don’t make them as large as the image above (I guesstimate that I’m looking for something 6 feet by 4 feet or a little smaller).

I love aerial photography. I once saw a room with a wall covered ina huge aerial map, and I covet any of Gerhard Richter’s aerial views:

In my dreams!

If you find a map you like, a Kinkos or other print shop should be able to blow it up to the size you want for not too much deniro …

I love this idea. Aerial photography is so compelling. You might check out Alex MacLean’s site.

I’ve no idea how expensive it is, but might be worth checking (I have nothing to do with him, by the way, was just checking out the site earlier today as it happens).

Good luck.
