We are so excited to welcome Alexander Nova Wright into our family!
He was born at 7:51 am, weighing 8 lbs on the dot and measuring 20 inches long. Photos to follow later in the week.
Thanks for all the lovely comments! And, many thanks to Joanna for posting the news for us yesterday! Here is a cutie shot of Alex:

1980s, summer time: my mother and I’d sit outside sunbathing, run into town to get groceries for our often nightly bbq, then go for a swim in the neighbors’ pond every evening. We lived in this type of sandal, summer after summer. Just seeing them makes me think of grass, the feeling of summer sun and really the joys of childhood and summertime. $38 at Urban Outfitters.

I fall in love with postal stamps and then become a loyalist — I will only send letters/bills/thank you notes with that stamp. My most recent obsession was the Albert Bierstadt stamp, above, which depicts his 1864 painting “Valley of the Yosemite.” With the change of the postal rate to 44 cents, I’ve been feeling sad, as there is something about having to use a extra stamp 2 cent stamp that ruins the effect of sending a letter — it just looks so messy to me (call me crazy). So imagine my delight when Black*Eiffel pointed out these king and queen “love” stamps. I’ve found my next obsession! PS did you know that you can buy stamps online at USPS.com? In NYC I’ve found that the “good” stamps often sell out at my local post office (and this after I’ve stood in line for 40 minutes).

PS: See some of my favorite vintage stamps here.

I couldn’t resist this garden from Elle Decor. I want to pat those guard dog statues on the head and then get lost in this maze of green. See more amazing shots here.

Seems like a perfect secret garden to me… via Domino.
