Thinking about removable wallpaper

March 31, 2009

Inspired by Jordan’s use of removable wallpaper from Sherwin-Williams’ “Easy Change” line in her entry way  I’ve been browsing the Easy Change line website (which is NOT user friendly) and thought I’d share some of my favorites with you (see all of my picks in my Flickr).   If you like any of these and want to fine them on the Easy Change website, try searching on the “skew” number, ie SW7KC4073 in the image below.

I thought this would be nice for the nursery…

This could be great on one wall of our entry way…

For a wall of our bedroom?

This is the same pattern Jordan used, but in green. It could look great in on one wall of our entryway too.

PS you’ll remember how much I liked Jordan’s old entry way.

Be careful of the ones that say “unpasted” I ordered one of those and since there is no paste–it doesn’t work.

That site is sooo frustrating! I think they want you to get a taste of putting up wallpaper before you ever order it :) .

Hope you find one you love.

Abbey,
Glad you had trouble with the website too! I lost patience the first time I visited it and never went back! Thanks for posting these screenshots, maybe I’ll give it another shot!

I have to send you pictures of my painting escapade at my sisters house. We are in the decorating fight our lives with her husband about wallpaper. He doesn’t want it and she does. His argument is wallpaper and sheet-rock do not work well together. Something about the pasting process compromising the sheet-rock. Does anyone have any thoughts or advice on this? After seeing these I’m totally ready to argue with him. LOL.

Mmm…I’m kinda digging that foliage one. It’s surprisingly chic for Sherwin Williams!

And thanks for the link love above—aren’t those peonies just breathtaking?

I love the green version of what Jordan used in the entry. It would be perfect in my laundry. I like this idea. I wonder if I could hang it straight…

I like the idea – just wish they had some better designs!

Wallpaper terrifies me, but the green one that you suggested for your bedroom looks really nice– the darker color definitely too overwhelming, but the shape of the pattern is nice.

Hi I worked in a design studio where we sold wallpaper so I really know what I am talking about. They tried two different times to bring removable wallpaper back and then took it off of the market due to complaints. It come off alright. you might wake up the next morning and find it half on and half off. Don’t buy it. I love wall paper and so glad to see it back in vogue but get the real thing and enjoy it.

Oooohh, I’m loving the Grand Estates one. I want that in my house.

Can’t wait to see what you end up with. :-)

I’d assume it all depends on the surface you’re trying to cover. Higher texture walls are going to have less surface area that the removable paper can stick to. Also, I wonder how many times people just unrolled it and stuck it on the walls without vacuuming and wiping the years of dust with a damp cloth.

Sadly it seems like too many products get taken off the market not because they have faults, but because the consumer does!
