After our refrigerator somehow shorted out the entire apartment last night (!!), resulting in us spending the night in a hotel (paid for by our landlord) I’m in need of a particularly calming Daily Dose of Green. No one got hurt, the lights are now back on so really not that big a deal. However, it made me realize we’re not prepared for a crisis at night. We had a large flashlight and some candles/matches, but, our cell phones weren’t charged and we don’t have a land line. I think the next place we might spring for a real land line…

i just signed up for a land line for the LA apt–i actually need one just to be able to buzz people in. but it made me feel good to have an option other than my cell!

I’m glad it all worked out. We just got a landline for that very reason (and it ended up being a good excuse to buy a retro phone!)
