This image of dutch folk skating on the suddenly frozen canals made me so happy today. See the full article here.

I’ve always wanted to see the Northern Lights. Via Now Voyager

This moss bathmat is something I need! Of course, I read someplace that moss dies if you step on it three times, so this may not so practical, but it looks amazing! Via AT LA.

This fabric caught my eye… it reminds me of the 1960s but also of the 1880s somehow. I’d love to have pillows out of this and maybe a cool long coat. Via Oh Joy!

We haven’t thrown a party in our house — ever! We’ve had lots of people over for dinner, but no parties. I’ve been thinking that I’d love to do a Chinese New Year party, but, time is tight. In any case, this invite is delicious and fun and I love the grey and yellow.

A friend of a friend started up Recycle the City, a great resource/service that for a flat $95 fee will come take away all the things (like old batteries, appliances, computers) that you know you shouldn’t/can’t throw out and yet, Goodwill won’t take away. I think as a once a year, get-your-self-organized push, the cost would be more than justified. I’ve been on an organizing tear, sorting through junk drawers (who knew I had so many old batteries?) and this is just the sort of service I’m going to need once I go through the boxes and boxes of old electronics we have.

So I’m turning 30 in the middle of February and I want to take a trip someplace warm: Miami and do it up right. I want to stay in an awesome, pampering, no-holds-bared hotel. I’d prefer something that wasn’t over the top pretentious (think Mandarin Oriental not SOHO Grand if you feel me). I’d been thinking the Four Seasons (they have a nice promotion going on too…) but it is the “business district” and I wondered if maybe we want to stay someplace where we wouldn’t have to get in a car to go out to dinner/explore/ect.
So dearest readers, I turn to you: where should we stay?
LOVE,
Abbey

This just made me laugh — and is probably more me than the ubiquitous “keep calm” version. Found via HappyMundane
