This image from Martha Stewart Weddings has been on my mind recently — I love love love the chalk chandelier and am thinking of drawing something similar in our kitchen, since we have a loooooong wall (below) that just needs something . And a chalk drawing would be basically free.

you may have to use colored chalk… but i love the idea! so simple but so pretty
Love this idea!!!
love this look…have you considered doing it in a color perhaps to add a bit of punch to your kitchen? maybe paint it red and then the stenciled chandelier will stand out that much more in white?
hi c and c — we rent, so paint is out of the question!
but i think desmitten is right that colored chalk might do the trick….
You might want to try color chalk pastels to get a good vibrant colors – regular colored chalk is kind of meh (I have a chalkboard wall and have been experimenting!)
I think it’s a great idea.
so pretty!
would be very cool, i love that idea!
please show us how it turns out!!! i think it is going to be really cool!!!
i dont think that’s chalk…i think its a sticker. i just saw it in black at a shop in san francisco. they make all kind of laser cut wall/glass stickers that come on double stick paper. you peel the big piece on the back, stick it all onto the wall and then peel off the clear front.
Oh that would SO complement that crown floor mat that you KNOW I love!
And congrats on the anniversary:)
Erin — I LOVE the idea of a decal — I’d never thought of it and you are so genius! I actually went out an bought a Blik chandelier decal over the weekend. I’ll let you know when it’s up. I love commenters!
