Made in the 17th century for Petronella Oortman, a wealthy Amsterdam lady, I’d argue that this was where she stored some of her ideas about interiors she loved (similar to the blogworld, or our clipping files). I think you are right about the doll’s house being a way to express the owners own dreams! It is so important to express our own inner dreams, even if it is in a seemigly scaled down way!
