As a shopper, I get fatigued easily — it seems all the stores carry the same “cool” stuff at the same time. I’m sure you’ve had the experience of seeing the same patterned tote or new fangled desk organizer or graphic file folders EVERYWHERE. And I just get tired of it. I suppose its the power of the “big box” buyers (although the same thing happens with indie stores — you’ll see the same stuff in all of them too) and I suppose its why I’m drawn to old things, to vintage things, to any objects (vintage or not) that feel authentic and fresh. So, when I come across something I haven’t seen, and {oh joyousness!} a shop where there are many cool things I haven’t seen, its a nice feeling. One such store is Romp — a brooklyn based kids store that sells some funky, fun and not just for kids stuff. A few of my favs are below.
Foxes ($7-10 each)
Hedgehogs ($8)
Mushroom “merci” stamp ($8)
Mosaic Blocks ($48)
Leather animals ($40)

I completely agree. Nothing compares to fantastic vintage finds.
that merci stamp would be great for making your own stationary.
Love the little wooden animals! they aren’t that expensive either which is surprising!
