It’s hard to believe it’s almost holiday time. While watching my Wednesday night guilty pleasure, Gossip Girl, (which was actually filming a Christmas scene just down the street from our apartment tonight; cue throngs of upper east side prep school girl superfans lining Madison Avenue), I caught this Target holiday ad with an advent calendar theme:

Now let’s be clear: I love advent calendars. I love the inexpensive drugstore kind with perforated cardboard doors that you open to find a little chocolate. I love the antique one my mother used to fill with surprises for us. Anyway, a little early holiday spirit for you, courtesy of YouTube and the retail gods.

is the calender amy ruppel’s design? it’s really great.
i have to say that the changing of jim noir’s song made me laugh. the original lyrics to the song they use are “if you ever step on my patch, i’ll bring you down” (over and over again).

Wow, I adore advent calendars. I’ve got three that I open each year, again and again (the doors haven’t fallen off yet, but I have to be gentle) and then I normally find myself another two, and will keep one if it’s really good.
